As many of you are aware, S4NDMoD public servers went offline for a week or so. Our old provider (FragReady and then MACH9Servers) gave us two weeks notice that they were going out of business. We subsequently learned that we actually had three days. We contracted with a new provider, but there were faulty memory modules on the first machine they gave us. We were finally able to stand up our new servers yesterday (28 Aug 2015) on our new server.
While we enjoy running our public servers, we don’t get paid or receive any type of benefit. In the last three years, we have only received one donation (which we greatly appreciate). If you have a couple of dollars to spare, we would greatly appreciate anything that can be spared.
As before, all of our servers stream to PBBans.com. We have removed the ban list on all of our servers to give people a second chance.
If you haven’t done so already, add us on Facebook! We like to interact with the community and listen to the feedback on our servers. We are looking to run some more servers, so please let us know which games you would like to see!

The first-person shooter that started it all is back – Wolfenstein: The New Order will hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC at the end of the year, Bethesda Softworks announced today.
“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” Jens Matthies, creative director of the Sweden-based MachineGames, said in a statement. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”
Beginning tomorrow, Gamespot will run a series of exclusive feature stories with additional details about the game. No official launch date has been released, but The New Order is set for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3, and PCs to start.
As many of you are aware, S4NDMoD Hosting closed forever last month. Our public Return to Castle Wolfenstein servers, such as Depot and Rotation, were very popular with the community and we did not want to see these servers close. We have decided to re-open our public servers once again, with the exception that Depot is no longer hosted in Germany. S4NDMoD will not be renting servers. You can find the list of public servers below. All of our servers stream to PBBans.com and Yawn.be. Clicking on the IP address will direct you to the yawn.be page for each server.
S4NDMoD 2.4.0 has been released to the public. This release features PunkBuster, a new client with many features and lightning fast .pk3 downloads. You can grab it at http://pb.s4ndmod.com. Older versions are no longer supported.
PunkBuster is a computer program that is designed to detect software used for cheating in online games, such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The aim of the program is to isolate cheaters and prevent them from disrupting legitimate games. If you received the message “PunkBuster is required. Download at pb.s4ndmod.com”, this is the correct page. If you are a player, please select the Windows Client listed below. If you have trouble installing, please ask for help in the forums after reading the Technical Support section below.
Download the client version and save to desktop.
Run the .exe
Make sure to install it to correct location!
Run the shortcut on your desktop once the installation is finished.
If you have Windows Vista or 7, you must run the shortcut as an administrator! To do that, RIGHT click on the shortcut and select run as administrator
Windows Client – Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 – Choose this if you are not sure which one you need. Windows Server Linux Server

Technical Support / FAQ
Below are the solutions to several common problems experienced. Please try one of these before requesting support.
1) I get kicked for “YourName PunkBuster kicked player ‘YourName’ (for 2 minutes) … RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe“
You need to run Return to Castle Wolfenstein under an administrator account. If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, RIGHT click on the program and select “Run as Administrator”
2) I receive the error message “cannot load default.cfg“
You installed the patch in the wrong directory(folder). Please run the patch again and pay very close attention to what is being asked of you. When it asks for your path to Return to Castle Wolfenstein please point it to where your game is located.
3) My downloads in-game are looping / re-downloading the same file.
This appears to be caused by the permissions in Windows. While there may be another solution the easiest fix is simply run as admin. See #1 for instructions.
4) My screen is completely gray when I run the game.
If you are using a NVIDIA card please check what version of the drivers you are running. In order for the client to run you will need v190.62. This is very easy.
